Update on concept, materials, and schedule

Concept Design
Our objective is to create a virtual reality program using Unreal Development Kit 4 that is integrated with Oculus Rift and a custom-built electronic spirometer. With this program, we hope to better incentivize children with pulmonary issues to be more willing to perform reliable pulmonary function tests (PFTs).

We plan on creating two demos, if possible, this semester. One will consist of a sailboat that is propelled across a lake based on how the child performs.  The other will simulate the big bad wolf, blowing down a little pig’s house. We decided on these two, since they are fairly gender neutral in design.

The spirometer will be created using an Arduino board and a compatible bread board, along with the following materials.

Materials
-PVC pipe
-Plastic tubing
-Glue
-Pressure sensor (Honeywell brand?)
-Micro USB cable
-Wires
